On Tuesday August 16, 2022, the Port Chester Village Board of Trustees adopted revisions to the village code to establish targeted penalties for those who violate its local stormwater laws.
The purpose and intent of this local law is to prohibit the deliberate dumping of such substances like grease, refuse, and other solid waste materials into the village's storm system which directly pollute our own infrastructure and negatively impact the coastline water quality within the Byram River and beyond.
The board unanimously moved to establish a penalty range of $3,000 to $10,000 per offense.
The village maintains an aggressive approach to educating residents and local businesses about how polluting our stormwater system impacts upon our village's quality of life.

Together, the Village of Port Chester should work together to clean up our stormwater system and enhance local water quality.
