Starting today, September 1, 2022, the Tarry Lighthouse project is relocating barriers onto North Main Street in advance of the building construction.
Over the next several weeks and continuing for at least one (1) year, the project will demolish the remaining building and begin their phased construction plan.
The
development has received all necessary permitting through NY State Department of Transportation for its Pedestrian Safety Plan (including these barriers) and both a demolition permit and building permit for the subsequent construction has been approved by the Village of Port Chester.
We know that these barriers will cause for congestion and inconvenience for many in the downtown area, however, we must do our best to remain patient and cooperative. The village has already implored the developer to take extra precautions as construction moves forward to keep proactive channels of communication open with the local businesses, the Village Manager's office and the public and to demonstrate its ability to be a good neighbor!
