On January 8, 2023, the Port Chester Sustainability will host a Christmas tree chipping event in Lyon Park.
Residents are encouraged to join the village this Sunday from 10 AM to 2 PM as the Department of Public Works assists owners in mulching their trees and transforming them into healthy and sustainable chips suitable for protecting flower beds and landscaping projects.
This is a great way to recycle Christmas trees, healthy for the local environment, and cuts down of green waste that the village transfers to Westchester County.
For residents who are not interested in having their trees mulched this weekend, the Department of Public Works will pick up Christmas trees from January 3rd through February 10th.
Residents need only to place their tree in the front of their property, clear from blocking any sidewalk or other right-of-way (preferably on their front lawns), and DPW will get to it. Residents are always permitted to call DPW directly to request a pickup (914.939.5207) or drop their tree off themselves during regular business hours Monday through Friday at 82 Fox Island Road.
